Product design and development FAQs

RDi designs and develops products across healthcare, Digital Health and regulated high‑volume operations. This includes self‑sampling kits, medical packaging, UN3373‑compliant solutions, digital health interfaces, SIM card distribution workflows, pension and transactional mail fulfilment journeys, and any product or service that requires automation, compliance and reliable scale.
Yes. Digital Health is a core part of our consultancy. We design digital user journeys, online instructions, dashboards and supporting interfaces. When needed, we connect physical and digital elements through our +CURA platform, giving clients end‑to‑end visibility across logistics, sample tracking and results.
We follow a clear design and development process that includes user research, defined design inputs, risk assessment, iterative testing and detailed engineering. Our designs are then prepared for automated production using RDi’s kitting, traceability and fulfilment capability, ensuring the final product is safe, compliant and reliable at volume.
We regularly work with clients who need to update or improve a product already in use. This can involve usability testing, simplifying steps, improving component choices, adjusting packaging and adapting designs so they run smoothly on automated lines. The aim is always to strengthen performance and reduce operational issues.
Yes. While healthcare is a major focus, our design consultancy also supports clients in telecommunications, financial services and other regulated sectors. This includes designing and improving SIM distribution journeys, pension and transactional mail workflows and any process that relies on accuracy, security and operational efficiency.
Yes. We regularly assess existing products, kits and operational workflows to spot usability issues, inefficiencies and failure points. This includes reviewing customer journeys, fulfilment steps, clinical handling processes, packaging logic and how well your current design performs on automated lines. We run focused user testing and workflow analysis to pinpoint where improvements can reduce errors, speed up processing, simplify instructions or unlock cost savings. The result is a clear, evidence‑based view of what should change and how to strengthen your product or service.
